49. Sisters Brothers - Patrick deWitt

Cowboy story during the goldrush, made for a fun adventure.

48. Cosbyology - Bill Cosby

I just love this man.  I read it as I imagine he would present it, and it just sounded so purely Cosby.

45. Handmaid’s Tale - Margaret Atwood

So strange, not at all what I thought it was going to be.  Wish you heard more about the events leading up to the Gileadean period, and the ending disappointed me.

But a good read.

44. Lives of the Saints - Nino Ricci

Read this the day before I left for Costa Rica, as though I didn’t have anything else I should have been doing.

I seem to have been one of the few who didn’t read this in our high school.  My dad got super excited that I was reading it, and explained how the author is from Leamington, and how it’s part of a series.  Gabe was also reading it for school, so we had this big long fantastic discussion around the dinner table.  That’s what I want out of this year!

Oh and yeah, I really enjoyed it, I want to read the others, especially since the 2nd book is apparently the one Ricci actually wanted to write.

43. Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Hard not to feel like Florentino is rather pathetic - get over her already, foo.

But I really liked the ending.  Also some beautiful writing.

Except in my apartment, where the landlord enters immediately after knocking… So glad I’m out of there now!

42. Lucky - Alice Sebold

Her autobiography focusing on her own rape.  It was strange to read, but very compelling.
